Born and raised in Minden, Nevada, Carli Gumm was the 13th young woman to win the honor of being crowned Miss Nevada’s Outstanding Teen.
Carli was first introduced to the Miss Nevada Scholarship Organization in 2010 when she signed up to be a Nevada State Princess. The Nevada State Princess program is a mentoring program for girls’ ages 5-12 years old that are mentored by Miss Nevada titleholders and see first-hand the job of a titleholder goes beyond just wearing a crown. This allowed Carli to view the crown as a destination, a dream she hoped to wear herself one day.
As Miss Nevada’s Outstanding Teen, Carli dedicated her year of service to the Nevada State Princess mentoring program, promoting her platform Project Linus: Providing Security through Blankets, supporting the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital as their state ambassador, and showcasing the scholarship opportunities that are afforded to young girls through participation in this program all while being a full time student.
With big dreams of going to medical school, Carli put her over $10,000 of college scholarship to good use. Carli wants young girls to know that the Miss America Scholarship Organization is the largest scholarship foundation in the world. Carli not only earned over $10,000 in college scholarship, but was given multiple in-kind full tuition scholarships from colleges and universities around the country.
