After watching the 2017 Miss America pageant from her home in Las Vegas, Andrea Martinez was determined to compete in Miss Nevada. She competed in her first local pageant and won the title of Miss Clark County, qualifying her for the Miss Nevada competition. A few months later, she captured the title of Miss Nevada 2018. Andrea went on to compete in her third pageant ever…the iconic and prestigious Miss America pageant in Atlantic City.
She is currently a student at Grand Canyon University pursuing her Master’s in Forensic Psychology and aspires to be a Criminal Profiler within the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Her platform, P.A.C.T (Police and Communities Together), is very important to her and she’s dedicated to educating Nevada’s youth on how they can help bridge the gap between police and community relations.
Along with her passion for educating youth through her platform and as a substitute teacher for the Clark County School District, Andrea deeply enjoys serving at her church, Remnant Ministries. Within her church, Andrea teaches bible study, sings with the choir and attends services weekly. Her family and faith have encouraged her to love others, have integrity in her actions, and be disciplined and to be fully dedicated to whatever she pursues.
Andrea has received over $15,000 in scholarships from competing at a local, state and national level within the Miss America Organization, and will graduate this spring debt free. During Andrea’s reign as Miss Nevada, she intends to continue working with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and serving her state to the best of her abilities.
