Support Brooke as she runs for scholarships!

26.2 miles. Seems like a daunting task, but when you have a vision to give back to something bigger than yourself, it is not so daunting.  This spring, I will be running Revel Charleston Full Marathon in support of higher education.  As an instructor in higher education, I understand the profound impact a quality education can have on your life.  I want to give back to a program that provides scholarships for young women to have that quality education.  Please consider donating to the Miss Nevada Scholarship Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit that provides scholarships for women ages 17-25 years of age to pursue higher education.

$1 per mile. $5 per mile. Whatever you can give will go 100% toward scholarship for women in Nevada. All donations are tax deductible.

Follow along on my training journey…

Today is January 9th and so far I have ran 9 runs for a total of 29.31 miles for the month.  This morning I was up at 4:30 am (yes, AM!) to get out there.  Why you may ask? What crazy fool gets up that early (and in 40 degree weather) to do something so strenuous?  Well, I do…and so do my running partners (Corey & Violet).  Crazy, we may be, but I know that running is my time to make a difference — yes, physically I am getting stronger and mentally, I am preparing myself for the stress of the day, but running is the way I can give back to the community that has been my home for the past 12 years.   Join me on my journey to the Revel Full Marathon in April — physically come out with me on a run (or a jog, or walk if you would prefer) or donate to my cause of providing quality education to the women of our great state.  Until tomorrow…
