Eighteen year-old Ellie Smith has performed before millions in live audiences across the U.S. in concert, theater and on stage. As guest soloist, she has sung the National Anthem and God Bless America for numerous Major League Baseball, NFL, and NBA teams, including the 2011 NBA All-Star Rookies Game and the 2009 National. Ellie has sung for governors, presidential candidates, and on Capitol Hill, Washington, DC. Her stage credits, include: Eponine in Les Miserables at Artemus Ham Concert Hall in Las Vegas. She starred at Utah’s Tuacahn Amphitheater as Annie in Annie, Brigitta in Sound of Music, and Young Cosette in Les Miserables. At Utah Shakespeare Festival, Ellie was Mary Lennox in The Secret Garden. She has performed on programs with Tony Bennett, Kelly Clarkson, Donny & Marie, Jordin Sparks, and has soloed with the Las Vegas Philharmonic in Reynolds Hall at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, as well as at the Smith Center Cabaret Jazz Theater. In 2014, Ellie was a special guest soloist at the State of Nevada’s Sesquicentennial/150th Anniversary Concert at The Smith Center. Currently Ellie is appearing in Frank Wildhorn’s musical adaptation of “Count of Monte Cristo”.
Ellie’s work in community service has garnered numerous awards and accolades. She is the author and creator of the national anti-bullying program “Bullying: Don’t Let It Get to You”, accompanied by her music video of the same title (Ellie Smith: You Tube), which she has presented at over 150 schools and to more than 50,000 students. In 2013, Ellie co-authored a book, Girls Lead, which features her autobiographical story of overcoming bullying. Ellie’s work for Children’s Miracle Network and countless other charities has earned civic recognition, including September 19, 2012 being proclaimed by the Mayor and City Council as “Ellie Smith Day in the City of Las Vegas”.
The currently-reigning Miss Nevada, Ellie represented the State of Nevada at the 94th Annual Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City in Sept., 2014, winning special recognition for her talent performance. Ellie is proud to be a freshman in the very prestigious Music/Dance/Theater program at Brigham Young University, Provo.
