  • 2nd Runner up to Miss America, Kaye Lani Rae Rafko (Highest placement for Miss Nevada representative)
  • Preliminary Talent Award Winner at Miss America – 1st time for Miss Nevada
  • Selected as member of the Miss America Talent Troupe
  • Was the Lead Singer at Follies Bergere at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas when she won Miss Nevada
  • As a teenager she suffered from Bell Palsy and was paralyzed on the left side of her face for a year.  With determination as well as surgery, she now has 98% function in her face
  • Was criticized by reporters for being a showgirl in Las Vegas. Her response “I’m proud to be a showgirl – I’ve worn fewer clothes during the Miss America Swimsuit competition than I’ve ever worn on any stage in Las Vegas”-9/1987
