  • Ed Fehr specially built a banjo for Kim to use for Miss Nevada (the father of Carol Fehr, formerly of the Mickey Finn Band)
  • Had trouble with her evening gown orders and flew to California on her way to Atlantic City to buy a 3rd gown and then got to A.C. and 5 other contestants had the same gown.  She switched to the 2nd gown shipped to her for competition
  • Noted during Miss America week in the press that her boyfriend broke up with her after winning the state title
  • Previously was Miss Nevada United Teen-ager and Miss Ideal Miss
  • Her sister Annellen competed as Miss Clark County in the 1976 Miss Nevada Pageant
