  • Asked to quit ice show while preparing for Miss America. She ended up taking a leave of absence
  • Received permission from Victor Borge via telephone to use his copyrighted dialogue for her talent presentation at Miss America
  • Interviewed Nevada Governor Grant Sawyer on matters of state government
  • Appeared on several television programs during her year
  • Flew to LA for hair and makeup preparation before Miss America
